USD (United States Dollars) becomes the sole method of payment accepted by NCsoft West for Lineage II products, including NCoin items.

Do not fret! All players should be able to continue to buy NCoin with the same payment method have they used in the past and with no interruption in service. Now, all NCoin items are only priced in USD, and the VAT (Value-Added Tax) is added onto the price of the item or bundle at the time of purchase. • On Shilen, Bartz, and Magmeld, the Tersi's Light event ends. Fragments of Light and Specters of Light are removed from the game. All rewards remain in the game.
• The second batch of Free Server Transfers to Magmeld is processed. Players who did not make it into the second batch will be processed during next week's maintenance.

1 Rune of XP 50% - 5 Hour Pack: Contains a Rune of XP 50% 5-hour limited period. Cannot be exchanged or dropped. Can be shared with characters on the same server and same account via the Dimensional Merchant. The Rune of XP 50% 5-hour limited period item increases acquired XP by 50% if the item is stored in the character’s inventory. Remaining time decreases even when not playing. Cannot be exchanged or dropped.
5 Luxury Cocktails: Each cocktail gives you powerful buffs to greatly enhance your character’s combat abilities for 30 minutes. These items cannot be exchanged or dropped, but can be shared between characters on the same server and same account via the Dimensional Merchant.
The above items will be distributed on January 25, 2012 to characters that are level 20 or higher and have logged in between January 11 and January 18, 2012. This item will be given to the highest level character per account. Please note that being on a subclass affects the determination of what character is highest level.


Putting troubles aside, let us look forward to an exciting week to come! Players were restrained by the technical issues but may now play free of these bonds and maximize their gameplay thanks to a series of helpful server settings!

• Live life on the edge and fight without fear, for the death penalty is gone! If your character is killed by a monster or during PvP, he or she will not lose any experience points. However, characters will still lose experience points if they die while Chaotic.
• Give your weapon a makeover! The Augmentation Removal Fee is reduced to 1 Adena, so you’ll save a lot of money by changing your weapon’s augment this week.
• The Gatekeepers in Lineage II wish to contribute to this event by offering free teleports for the whole week! A few of the unconventional Gatekeepers, such as the Primeval Isle guy, decided to be lame and not participate, so their fees remain.

This settings event will last from January 25 to February 1, 2012. The settings are server-wide and affect all characters, regardless of class, level, or location in-game.

 

Regarding the on-going matters, we continue to pursue fixes and solutions to all existing issues.

• Tersi’s Light Agathion Removal: This change was meant to happen with the January 18, 2012 maintenance. Unfortunately, the agathions remain and the issue related to them continues. An emergency maintenance on January 19, 2012, will remove this item and the event NPC's link to them. Please stay tuned for that maintenance notice.
• Server crashes on January 18, 2012: Immediately after the schedule maintenance was finished, some of the applied changes caused server instability and many crashes. The servers are now stable and the compensation listed in this announcement is partially for the inconvenience of the many crashes.
• Lag Issues (also known as the Soulshot/Spiritshot Lag issue): This issue persists and it is our top priority to get it fixed as soon as possible. In the coming days, emergency maintenance may occur to apply potential fixes to this issue.

_With this maintenance:

• As announced previously, the Bartz server's time zone setting changes from GMT-6 (Central Time USA) to GMT-5 (Eastern Time USA). Henceforth, all scheduled system activities (such as Castle Sieges, daily quest reset times, instanced zone re-enter times, etc.) will begin one hour later than previously.
• On Chronos and Naia, the Tersi's Light event ends. Tersi's Light Agathions, Fragments of Light and Specters of Light are removed from the game. All rewards remain in the game.
• On Shilen, Magmeld and Bartz, Tersi's Light Agathions are removed from the game, the Priest of Blessing no longer gives Tersi's Light Agathions, and the Tersi's Light event enters its final stage in which Fragments of Light no longer drop from monsters. Remaining Specters of Light and Fragments of Light may still be used. Remember, Specters of Light may still evolve even if no Fragments of Light are pushed into it; rewards can be obtained from the Specter of Light without using the agathion.
• A possible fix to the server lag issues is being implemented. The servers will be closely monitored upon being opened to the public to confirm the fix.
• The first batch of Free Server Transfers to Magmeld is processed.
• The in-game Community Boards are re-opened to the public. The Community Boards can be found on the homepage of the Community window (Alt+B) and function as a sort of forum for players to communicate with each other. Read more about the Community Boards here.
• On Shilen, Magmeld and Bartz, the 2-slot character restriction is removed. Players may now create up to 7 characters per server per account.
• The Pando Media Booster program has been added to the Lineage II installation. This is a safe program that greatly improves download speeds from the NCsoft Launcher to players' Lineage II installations on computers around the world. Pando is a mandatory part of the Lineage II installation.
• To ameliorate the issue of RMT/Adena spam in-game, chat restrictions have been applied to the game. The chat channels "All," "Shout," and "Trade" are now restricted to characters level 20 or higher. "Whisper" is possible but a future maintenance should make it so that it is only possible in reply form. This change is meant to be temporary and it may be altered or removed in the future.
• Bug fix: If your character has a Melody or Saha buff in place, your pet will no longer repeatedly cast its buffs on you.
• Bug fix: When a character Awakens as an Aeore Healer or a Wynn Summoner, the Light Armor Mastery skill is now deleted. This is to prevent players from retaining the overpowered fast casting speed and to encourage them to move on to the Awakened skill, Superior Armor Mastery, as was intended by game design.

What is the organizational structure of the Community Boards? This is what the boards directory looks like in-game, here with added numbers to help explain what each section is for:

1. Lineage2 Website

This opens the Lineage II website in an internet browser while your game is still running on your computer. If you are in full-screen mode when you select this option, the full-screen mode will be cancelled.

2. Region Info

Information about the different regions, castles, and clan halls on your server. Lists all of the regions, the name of the clan that owns the castle on the region, the name of the clan's alliance, and the regions present and future tax rate.

Clicking on a specific region will open a new page with more information about that particular region, including the region's castle's next siege date, and a list of all the Clan Halls in that region, and clan name and clan leader name of each clan that owns a Clan Hall there.

_3. Favorites

As you browse the Community Board, you can bookmark certain threads, posts or sections as your Favorites, and use the Favorites section to find your way back to them quickly. These bookmarks are specific to your account, and cannot be seen or used by other players.

4. Lineage II News

This section is populated by NCsoft staff to list the same announcements as are found on the official Lineage II website. Only staff can post in this section.

5. General Discussion

A place for players to talk about different features and functions of Lineage II. This section is server-specific: only players logged onto your server will see these posts. General Discussion includes the following sub-sections:

• News: Write about recent announcements on the website, or make your own news.
• Info: Post a thread with a game guide that you wrote, or advice for other players on how to do a particular quest, or fight a raid boss.
• Gossip: Voice your opinions about your experiences in the game, and chat generally with other players.

6. LFG / Raid Boss

This is a good place to recruit players to work together for XP, a quest, or to conquer a difficult monster. This section is server-specific: only players on your server will see these posts.

• LFG: Looking for a party, or is your party looking for more members? Looking to create a constant group day-to-day? Post here and say what level range, classes, and hunting areas you want to focus on.
• Raid Boss: Looking to recruit more players so that you can all defeat a difficult raid boss? Post the name of the monster and start organizing the raid in this section.

7. Q&A

Have questions about the game? Post here and get answers from fellow players. This special section is shared across all servers. This section also has various sub-sections, to help you narrow down the area of discussion you are focusing on.

• Quest: Post questions about quests here.
• Item: Post questions about certain items, recipes, weapons and armor here.

How do I search the Community Board for a certain thread title or author?

• First, choose a subsection, such as General Discussion, or LFG / Raid boss.
• There is a drop-down menu that lists Title or Writer. If you want to search by thread title, choose Title and enter in a keyword (or keywords). If you want to search by author name, choose Write and enter the author's name into the text box. Click Search.
  • If you enter one keyword, the results will show every thread with that keyword in the thread name.
  • If you enter multiple key words, the results will show every thread that has both of those keywords in the name.
  • You can enter partial words or character names.

How do I create a thread on the Community Board?

1. Depending on what you want to say, choose the boards section that you want to post in. If you want to debate a particular topic about Lineage II game design, choose General Discussion. If you are looking for players to group with, choose the LFG / Raid Boss section.
2. Once you've chosen the proper section, click Write to begin creating your thread.
3. In the Title drop-down menu, choose what category of post you are going to make. For example, in General Discussion, the sub-categories are News, Info, and Gossip. Next, enter the title of your thread. In the Body box, write the opening post of your thread.
4. When you have finished writing your thread, click OK to post it.
5. You can edit or remove your thread by clicking on it, and then click on Change or Delete. You can also Reply to your own thread. Please note that Deleted threads are removed after clicking on Delete once, and removed posts are not stored.

How do I comment on or reply to someone else's thread on the Community Board?

When reading a thread on the Community Board, you can either Comment on the thread, or Reply to the thread.

• To Comment, write in the text box at the bottom of the page, and click Enter, then OK to post your comment about the thread.
  • When you leave a comment about a thread, it will look like this:

_To Reply to a thread, click on the Reply button.

• On the Reply page, the thread title box will already be filled out with the name of the thread you are replying to. You can modify the thread title if you wish, but this only modifies your reply's title, not the thread's title itself.
• If you want to modify the Reply you made, click on the Change button when viewing your post.
• When you leave a Reply to a thread, it will look like this:

We have already taken some actions to fix this issue: the event was transitioned into its final stage on Chronos and Naia, the most affected servers. Although the event and the issue will end one week early for them, the Tersi's Light Agathions still gave event items in the final week, proving it to have been a less than ideal solution. Since then, we have worked closely with the development team to look for a better solution to this issue. We are happy to announce that we have been able to make the technical changes necessary for this despite it not having seemed possible previously.

The Tersi's Light Agathion will be removed from all servers in the maintenance of January 18, 2012. This change is redundant to Chronos and Naia, as the event will be entirely concluded on that day. On Shilen, Magmeld and Bartz, the lag issue should be reduced in a way that allows players to log on and play the rest of the event.
